Installing SAP GUI for Windows 7.30 PLD HF1 with Java 8

I read that it is possible to install the 7.3 GUI with Java 8

I am running Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition

Java

C:\Users\Administrator>java -version

java version "1.8.0_77"

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_77-b03)

Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.77-b03, mixed mode)

But whenever I tried to install it it says that I need versrion 7.2 of Java or higher. I installed an instance of

SAP Netweaver ABAP AS ABAP 7.03 SP04 64-bit Trial with no problems and that is running fine.

Please help.
